Frieda has been with Kildonan MCC for 44 years and was one of the women that started MCC in Winnipeg.

At Kildonan MCC our volunteers are determined to make the world a better place by showing Gods love in all they do by the task of sorting, pricing, merchandising and sales. They continuously work hard to make sure we fulfill our commitment to MCC for the local and global projects abroad. Consider joining our 280 passionate volunteers and join us in showing Gods great love to the world.

Why do you volunteer at MCC?

After the Second World War me and my family lived in a refugee camp. In there I received kit from MCC that contained products for school and personal hygiene. On the outside of the package it said “In the Name of Christ” I knew whoever sent this was special and I knew from then on I would love to volunteer there.

Any advice for future volunteers?

If you want to be a volunteer at Kildonan MCC you would have to be committed to time. You should do whatever you needed to do or ask what can be done. All you need to do is do a good job. You’ll love it and the people you will meet. “I love doing what I do” - Frieda
